SCARBOROUGH

Scarborough is a popular tourist destination. It has beaches, parks, castles, The Scarborough Fair Collection and busy markets. You will find plenty of wheelchair and scooter accessible venues.

The Scarborough Fair Collection - All parts of the museum are fully accessible, the floors are smooth and level and there is plenty of space for wheelchairs or scooters. All parts of the museum are well lit, and if any further assistance is required, all staff have received at least basic disability awareness training.
Scarborough Castle - The Castle grounds are accessible by smooth gravel paths, although there are some steep ramps and hills. Any steps on the site can be avoided through alternative routes. Disabled parking is provided, just let a member of staff know when you arrive at the castle gates.
Scarborough Seafront - Scarborough's seafront is wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly with 3.5 miles of tarmacked path tracing the coastline. There are ramps down to the beach and limited disabled parking at The Spa and The Esplanade, next to the Cliff Lift.

WHITBY

Whitby takes pride in providing attractions for people with different types of disabilities.

Whitby Abbey - Despite the ruins being situated on headlands, they are accessible for wheelchair and scooter users. Ramp access is in place throughout the ruins and there is a smooth pathway to use too. There are disabled parking bays and an accessible museum onsite.
Whitby Museum and Pannett Art Gallery - The Museum and art gallery have level access and an accessible toilet. There is a lift to the upper floor. They do not have public parking, but there are four disabled parking spaces for blue badge holders at the rear of the Museum.
Whitby Harbour - The picturesque Whitby Harbour is wheelchair accessible. There is level access to the harbour area, and the town’s famous swing bridge can be viewed from the harbour area.

BRIDLINGTON

Bridlington has a variety of accessible attractions that cater to wheelchair users. Disability Horizons, the online magazine, has voted Bridlington, on the Yorkshire coast as one of its five recommended accessible UK holiday destinations.

Bridlington’s Seafront Promenade - The 2 mile promenade at Bridlington is perfect for mobility scooter access, it runs from the North Harbour all the way to Limekiln Lane.
The Bridlington Spa - a historic venue that hosts a range of events and performances, is fully accessible with level access, lifts, and accessible toilets.
The Sewerby Hall and Gardens - Sewerby Hall is a stately home set in 50 acres of landscaped gardens, with accessible paths, ramps and toilets.
Bridlington Harbour Heritage Museum - The Harbour Heritage Museum has been modified to enable full access for visitors using wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
